"Apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess." Having just returned from the war, Rarity has found herself enveloped in a world of delusion and morbid fantasy. Her relationship with Sweetie Belle has been distanced by Rarity's horrific experiences, and is now convinced that this 'reality' she lives in is merely a facade of a true 'reality' that exists after death. The quote at the beginning of the song details Rarity's inability to connect with Sweetie Belle, realizing that the only way to truly bring them closer, how they used to be, is to enter this new 'reality' together. Rarity stands atop a cliff and stares out at the ocean. The wind blows heavily, as the sky grows darker. This is where her new reality will begin...
